We don’t know how long EssayBox has been in business, but there is information out on the web going several years back. We decided to evaluate this company based on a few discussions about it by our site users. To do this, we used all our standard factors of assessment:

  • We read through every single page of the website looking for information about the company itself, its writers, its products and services, prices, samples, quality of writing itself, and any other unique features
  • We seek out reviews and feedback from actual customers that is out on the web, or that has been posted on our site – we do solicit this, by the way, so that we get as many comments as possible. While we do put a little stock in the site-based testimonials, there is no way to verify them.
  • We were able to get a copy of a research essay that a customer sent over to us so that we look at quality
  • We contact customer support to see how responsive they are and if they can answer questions with the detail we want to see.

We were able to gather enough information on EssayBox.com to give you a review that will help you decide if this is a company you will want to use to get your essays, papers, and other assignments.

Prices and Discounts

Our first thought when we looked at EssayBox pricing was that the quality better be exceptional considering the cost. A high school essay with a deadline of 10 days will run $16 a page – that’s pricey, and the cost goes up from there for college and grad students and shorter deadline requirements. The top cost can run up to $65 a page for Ph.D. Work.

In terms of discounts, we did not see a lot, other than a 5% reduction for first-time users. This is a lot lower than most services, especially given the high costs. Students on tight budgets

may struggle to meet these costs.

Products and Services

A listing of products and services is easily found on the EssayBox.com website, and there are footer pages that are supposed to describe these in more detail. Unfortunately, there is little detail given – they are more just marketing pages, repeating the same reasons why students should choose EssayBox for their writing needs.

Still, there is a comprehensive array of products and services – essay, papers, analyses, reviews, presentations, lab reports, homework help, case studies, admissions and scholarship essays, editing and proofreading, and even test-taking. EssayBox also offers copywriting services to online companies, but that is not something we are evaluating in this review.

EssayBox Payment Options

Customers can use any major credit or debit card, as well as PayPal, which is probably the most secure. We did determine that EssayBox does use a reputable third-party payment processor and does not gather or store any customer financial information on its site. This is important and a real plus.

Policies and Guarantees

We were glad to see that EssayBox has clearly written policies that include guarantees and promises all students want and need. Here are a few of the key elements of these policies:

Terms and Conditions: This is a long policy document that covers customer and company rights and responsibilities. It provides all of the detail about using the EssayBox site, the processes for ordering, communications with writers, delivery, and procedures if students have questions, complaints, or requests for revisions to the products they receive. It’s important to note that EssayBox forbids a student from distributing or selling a received product and that EssayBox is not responsible if a student should receive a bad grade on a product they receive. We urge everyone to read this policy document carefully.

Privacy: This policy explains what information EssayBox collects on both visitors and users, including the use of cookies, but also details how user confidentiality is protected. It is a clear and solid policy that will protect customer personal information and one of the better ones we have seen.

Revisions: it is common for writing services to have a policy when students are not happy with the final drafts they receive. EssayBox is no different. Students can ask for revisions within 10 days of receipt of their final written piece. These are free, so long as the revisions do not change the original order in any way. Changing the original order will come with extra cost.

Money-Back: There are situations in which students might request a refund from EssayBox. And there are clear policies that govern when either partial or full refunds may be granted. Usually, these situations relate to late delivery or cancellations. Refunds requested because of poor quality will require a lot of effort on the part of the student, and, as the policy states, a poor grade is not grounds for a refund.

Is It a Legitimate Writing Service?

The short answer is yes. EssayBox.com is a legally registered company. It does take orders from students, it does provide writers for those orders, and it does deliver finished products.

But legitimacy is not the only big factor here. The quality of the products that students receive is just as important. This requires degreed and highly qualified scholarly writers who can produce sound academic research and writing. EssayBox, at one point, says it uses only American writers; at another point, is says that it uses native English-speaking writers from the U.S., the UK, and Canada. And in the order form, students must pay extra for a native English speaking writer. This is problematic.

We were able to get a hold of a college level research paper from a customer. For the price she paid, it was poorly written, obviously by a foreigner; it lacked a solid thesis statement, and there were lots of structural and grammatical errors. What a disappointment.

Customer complaints were along the same lines.

Pros and Cons

We always provide a list of the major pros and cons that we have found on EssayBox.com. Here are those for EssayBox:

Pros

  • The product and service offerings are comprehensive
  • Good website design
  • clear and published policies and guarantees
  • a safe payment system

Cons

  • customer dissatisfaction with their products – complaints range from poor research and writing to delays when revisions are requested
  • pricing that is too high when compared with the quality of product
  • Mediocre customer supporting
  • A website link to samples, but no samples actually available

Overall Summation

We were initially impressed with EssayBox.com. The website was designed well, and the content was clear and informative. And their policies are clear as well.

Other more important factors, though, diminish the company in our eyes. Specifically, writing quality is poor. And, even though EssayBox promises native English-speaking writers, students have to pay extra to get one. This tells us that they use SEL writers unless students pay extra for a piece that is already pricey.

We cannot recommend EssayBox. We urge students to take a good long hard look before they select this company. On the other hand, if you are on our site, check out some of our top-rated writing service companies. We have many that produce top quality at reasonable prices. You’ll find one that suits your needs.
